Basket raffle details

Our basket raffle (also known as a tricky tray, penny social, and/or brown bag auction) is the perfect combination of a silent auction and a traditional raffle. 

Upon entering the event, participants could buy as many basket tickets as they'd like. Basket raffle tickets are not available for pre-sale. After attendees purchased their tickets on-site, they had  2 hours to scope out all available baskets and prizes.

Each basket was displayed with a list of what's inside. Alongside each basket was its corresponding container. As opposed to bidding like you would in a traditional auction, attendees dropped one or more tickets into the basket's container to increase their chance of winning it.

We made several announcements before closing the window for participants to drop tickets before we began drawing one winning ticket per basket. The winner had to be present to claim their prize. We called each ticket three times; and if the winner did not identify themsevles and show proof of their winning ticket, the ticket will be disqualified and we drew another ticket from the basket's container. Winners walked out of the event with their items in hand.
